pronoun's emotive guitar-pop takes shape on "sadie"
The run-up to a debut album can feel like a tight-rope of expectation. New York's pronoun transcends all expectations to deliver the incisive guitar-pop of new single "sadie".
With debut LP i'll show you stronger due out late May, pronoun continues on her three-year trajectory of immersive bedroom indie-rock. Bright, charming, and utterly inimitable, "sadie" sees her deliver yet another soaring slice of indie that's impossible to categorise: bringing an immersive wall of multi-tracked guitars and engaging, androgynous vocals to life once again with a vibe leaning more rock than ever before.
"I wrote this song skateboarding around SXSW 2016," says pronoun, aka Alyse Vellturo. "I had just started the project and was meeting so many new people and musicians and everything was starting to fall into place. I was so thankful and excited to start a new life and career on my own and leave everything I knew behind."
