Hailing from the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canadian rockers Powder Blue churn up a perfect storm of psychedelic rock, shoegaze and drone with their newest track “Run”.
Warm, hazy harmonies slightly thaw the icy edges of the quartet’s blend of urgent drums and sprawling reverb, but the larger-than-life, looming keyboards will still make you draw your coat a little tighter against the chill. Those who immersed themselves in the psych-rock squall of A Constant Sea by Heliotropes last year will find themselves mesmerized by Powder Blue’s raw power.
“Run” precedes the release of the band’s debut full-length, anticipated for release later this year. Experience their heady, haunting sound live at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this May (8-10).
