POP Montreal Present POP Shots Episode 7: Un Blonde
POP Montreal’s POP Shots see in 2016 with a special 360-degree video from Un Blonde.
To make the most of the video, view it in Chrome, Firefox, IE, or Opera then grab the screen and use it to ‘walk’ around the room as Jean-Sebastian Audet (joined by members of Nap Eyes, Each Other and Telstar Drugs) plays a dreamy take on "Look", taken from 2015's fantastic Water The Next Day album.
Having moved to Montreal from his hometown of Calgary in 2014, the prolific Jean-Sebastian Audet has focussed on developing his Un Blonde project, releasing Water The Next Day in spring last year. A wandering, shifting fusion of weird-funk, twisted R&B and downtrend electro-pop crackles, equal parts experimental and focused exploration of sounds and textures, the album is just the first part of trio of records the creatively restless Audet intends to release in the coming year. He also dropped a 25-minute mixtape of outtakes in the form of All That Hasn’t Seen The Light Of Day late last year, parts of which seemed to feature him paring his soulful croon with Elephant 6-like experimentation and even a foray into country rock.
There will be plenty more to come from POP Shots in the coming months, with future episodes featuring Wasiu, LA Foster, and She-Devils amongst others.
The session was recorded and Mastered by LANDR.
