Finnish brother-sister duo Pole Siblings reveal the soaring tender beauty of "How Low"
Sofia and Johan Stolpe, aka Pole Siblings, first made their mark with their debut EP It Might Grow last year, and with "How Low" they return with a superbly intense and spine-tingling song that will move you as much as it will entrance you.
"How Low" sees Sofia Stolpe repeatedly question her heart, as she asks "How low can my heart / Grow with you?" over a haunting guitar that slows creeps upwards amongst a sea of cinematic layering. It has a true ghostly quality that digs deep into the dusty corners of your consciousness, pinging at the heartstrings and ensuring that it tenderly makes an impact.
It's the first track to come from their upcoming EP entitled Sköljer bort dig, which means "wash you away" in Swedish and explores the themes of life and death, family and mortality itself.
Although originally from Finland, the pair now reside in Sweden and made the four track EP on the west coast of Sweden in Gothenburg which undeniably carries through to the expansive of the track. It's filled with huge landscapes and a blockbuster quality that make it perfect for soundtracking a big scene on the big screen.
