"Out Of Love" is a dreamy electro-pop wonder from PLUM
PLUM are the Canadian electro band who create dreamy, '80s-tinged pop that is absorbing and compelling in equal measure.
PLUM's latest venture is another escapade into dreamy soundscapes and whimsical melodies that float in a hypnotic haze. Lead singer Rachael Kross' breathy vocals shimmer with a disco-ball sheen as she illustrates the story of a love's dimming flame, with a kind of cinematic melancholy that draws you wholly into PLUM's world.
The synths whirl in perpetual motion as the driving electronic beats and manipulated sounds build into a dreamy, nostalgic texture that could easily soundtrack those late summer days where the evenings start to draw in and darkness returns.
Speaking on the track's creation and the accompanying video, PLUM say "We decided that we wanted ‘Out of Love’ to be our first music video because it showcases many of the elements of our overall sound compiled into one song. The contrast between the driving synths, upbeat rhythm, and ethereal vocals sends the listener into a wave of nostalgic euphoria of a summer love that’s burning out."
It's an impressive and entrancing offering from PLUM and one which marks out where their creative intent might take them next.
