
Pleasure Heads demonstrate why they are one of Scotland’s greatest hopes on “Middle Man”
The Glaswegian outfit follow their debut guitar smash “Concrete Lips” with new single “Middle Man” out through independent label Public.
The raucous foursome hail from Falkirk and have been making a splash in Glasgow’s rejuvenated music scene since last year, employed post-punk attitude with infectious choruses. Taking their name from The Birthday Party track “Sometimes Pleasure Heads Must Burn”, the band bonded over a shared love of early punk and ‘60s soul and took two years to develop and hone their craft before sharing songs with the occupants of their hometown Falkirk and subsequently further afield.
“Middle Man” sees Pleasure Heads cast their minds back to the dangers and excitement of misspent youth. Vocalist Euan Purves explains “Middle Man is a snapshot of simpler times, getting together with friends, nervously waiting around shady corner shops, hoping the fake ID works and the carry out is claimed. Sat around makeshift campfires, drinking ourselves to merry abandon until the suns come up”.
