
Plaitum tease debut album with evocative new electro tune "Yearning"
Demonic electro-pop twosome Plaitum have unfurled the horror-laced beauty of new single "Yearning".
"We’ve always been set on hiding dark, sadistic fucked up stories in pop," Plaitum's Abi Dersiley says. "Trying to portray stuff in a way that people don’t realise they’re listening to something that’s based on a bad experience or Ted Bundy or whatever. To explain every song would be missing the point... it’s like a joke, almost. It makes people feel kind of dirty, in a way."
The track is another sublime taste of upcoming debut album Constraint.
"Yearning" is a brewing storm - it's not punctuated with cathartic plumes of emotion like some other tracks from Plaitum, with a burbling, burgeoning outburst lurking underneath a shroud of supposed calm.
Plaitum have confirmed a handful of new shows in April to support the LP's release, including a headline date at London's Pickle Factory on 25 April. Find out more.
