Watch: Peluché - "Ohio" [Premiere]
Peluché are an eccentric trio of funky Londoners who will be on Best Fit’s stage at Bristol’s Simple Things Festival and are in the meantime sharing the visuals for their latest single, “Ohio". The single (double-sided with "Cinnamon") is released on cassette via RIP Records on 27 October. You can pre-order here.
The track in itself is a pint-sized masterpiece with an otherworldly groove and what I believe is the bassline of the year. There's also a calypso-flavouring that tinges this Europop explosion with restless excitement. Quirky wordplay and fidgety funk exhumes the delirium of Tom Tom Club of days of old, making this an unmissable release.
The video, directed by photographer Jack Taylor Gotch, is filled with primary coloured portraits of the band mouthing the vocals of the tracks, juxtaposed with the ladies “dressed as” what can only be described as Twin Peaks and populated by what seems like the characters from the Little People Project.
Make sure to witness all and more oddness by catching them at Simple Things Festival in Bristol on 25 October. Remaining live dates below:
