PC Music gets noisy as felicita drops HEALTH-y cut "a new family"
PC Music new(ish)comer felicita has dropped "a new family", the first single from an upcoming EP of the same name.
"a new family" is far removed from the sugar-coated candy-pop that usually wafts from PC Music - instead, we've got a brutal sonic assault closer to HEALTH than Hannah Diamond.
Speaking about the upcoming release felicita says: “During the making of this EP, I spent hours and hours in the studio. By the end of each day my lips would turn a light blue. I lived on dried seaweed, learnt to play the piano, fell deeper into total pop abstraction. I recorded vocals with friends, borrowed riffs from a pro-metal guitarist, spent days editing silence. Matt screams on a new family; Raffy lay in a park wondering what to buy her boyfriend for his birthday in I woke up; Chloe chants, croaks, and gurgles in a way no one else could. Merlin imitated flocks of geese.”
Matt Copson directs the "a new family" video, which is self-styled by felicita.
felicita will appear on PC Music's upcoming Vol. 2 compilation alongside Danny L Harle, Hannah Diamond, and A. G. Cook. felicita signed with the experimental pop collective earlier this year.
