The Line of Best Fit
Following a year that saw the release of their debut eponymous EP and a transatlantic tour, New York electronic outfit Overcoats continue to feed the hype with their latest single. "Nighttime Hunger" sees them make a step towards a darker and more ambitious sound.
Nocturnal from the very start, Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell's latest offering ebbs and flow throughout, managing to perfectly capture the essence of an insomniac’s 3am acceptance that sleep and the night don’t always go hand in hand. Expertly arranged layers of haunting synths and flowing percussion frame their now-trademark playful vocal marriage - with the resultant track being as haunting as it is hypnotic. Kicking off the new year with seven dates already booked in – including an appearance at SXSW – 2016 looks set to be another big one for this impressive duo. Words: Max Sanderson
