OUTLYA shoot out squirmy, hook-riddled gem "Higher"
Pop newcomers OUTLYA have unloaded "Higher", a new track produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat (The Vaccines, Radiohead).
The tune follows February's "The Light" and shows off the trio's seemingly innate knack for a great pop chorus. With thick, syrupy layers piled to the stratosphere, an overwhelming rush of emotion, and melodies so catchy the WHO should be involved, OUTLYA make a supreme song destined for summer revelry.
"'Higher' is a song about that place we all go to when things get grim," says frontman Will Bloomfield. "It’s a song with a simple message: sometimes it’s okay to retreat into our own imaginations. We wanted the track to sound bold and have this huge vocal sound like Pastor T L Barrett and the Youth For Christ Choir. We also wanted to create a strong tropical feel to help conjure up an image of our own desert island, the island of OUTLYA."
