Quirky Belgian outfit Pale Grey share infectious track "Blizzard" and announce album release
Expansive and continually shifting, Pale Grey’s second single "Blizzard" is a stunning return to form.
“How can I tell you that I feel fine?” booms vocalist Gilles Delwaque, his captivating baritone seeking out an answer to the simplest of questions. This is a vocal timbre that is inherently cool, not Joe Strummer/Elvis Costello cool more Jarvis Cocker/Bernard Butler cool. Instrumentally, the band's trademark approach to dream pop first demonstrated in "Billy" remains largely unchanged. Archaic saw leads and hymnal synths take this track away from the trappings of a standard ambient pop piece to something with an air of intellect and grace, much like ane excerpt of Philip Glass' Koyaanisqati score.
