Our Mother share late night electro jam “Surprise Machine”
Tottenham based four-piece Our Mother have released the first track off their forthcoming EP entitled “Surprise Machine”.
The latest signing by Lucky Number (Hinds, Darwin Deez), the band have showcased their techno-pop abilities on “Surprise Machine”, an ambient, synth-laden affair featuring an ethereal chorus and one hell of a hook.
Inspired bywell-produced pop such as William Orbit era Madonna and Usher’s “Climax”, Our Mother have honed in on the style of late noughties techno, creating a sound that is reminiscent of Crystal Castles more laid back ventures, albeit fused with an indie pop vocal.
Lyrically the track leans in a more sinister direction: “There’s always a hatchet by your door, it’s happening again”, demonstrating that it’s not all swings and waterslides in the minds of this four piece. Expect darker pieces of music to emerge in future.
Our Mother are set release their debut EP “A.O.B” on the 29th April via Lucky Number.
