Oscar-nominated teenager Hailee Steinfeld shares debut single "Love Myself"
18-year-old Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld, who you may recognise as part of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" squad, has shared her debut track.
You might also recognise Steinfeld from her acting - she got tipped for awards success at the age of 14 for her role in the Coen Brothers' remake of True Grit.
It's a pop banger of the highest pedigree, with to-the-rafters hooks and massive rhythms, and the general consensus is that it's a not-so-subtle nod to the sanctity of self-love. The argument's definitely there - "I'm gonna put my body first/and love me so hard 'til it hurts/I know how to scream out the words..." - but perhaps it's more about appreciating your own strengths. Vulture have a breakdown of the context if you want to find out more.
