Orchin shares lustrous new wave track “Arrow’s Song”
Since his arrival in early 2016, Orchin has been making a name for himself with a pastiche of This Mortal Coil style dream pop and classic shoegaze.
“Arrow’s Song” is a very British affair all things considering. Sad and lovelorn, the track harks back to the golden age of New Romance where big hair and quiet tones dominated both above and below ground. There is a sense of modernity to it in the same way that an interpretation of a classic song by a contemporary artist, at times, appears relevant.

It is hard to make music in this style and not be decried as worshipping at the altar of Raymonde or Watts-Russell. Fortunately for Orchin, he has managed to avoid regurgitation and created something that is obviously indebted to a particular time period, maybe even a particular year but put his very own stamp on it.
