Listen: Orangatang - "Makin' All Of Our Bodies Close"
With a line-up that is apparently subject to fluctuation every now and again, the ambiguous Orangatang instead cites its members as part of a collective. Their chilled, summer-tinged pop reflects the open and relaxed approach they take.
The group’s current release, the hypnotic “Makin’ All Of Our Bodies Close”, thrives on the musical diversity that this mixture of collaborators surely brings. “Makin’ All Of Our Bodies Close” is a chilled-out appreciation of taking a break every so often, with a strong holiday vibe throughout thanks to the unusual mixture of enthusiastic bongos, lush instrumentation and breathy, almost indistinguishable vocals.
With a sound that openly appreciates their effortlessly cool Californian roots, “Makin’ All Of Our Bodies Close” is a welcome nod to the final appearance of the hazy, aimless dog days of summer.
