South East London’s Only Girl has aired the kaleidoscopic visuals for her latest track, ‘Mountain’.
The young vocalist’s brace of straightforward, but promising debut demos, ‘End Of Time’ and ‘Colour Me’ surfaced two years ago; she returned this month with ‘Mountain’, produced by Henry Binns of Zero 7, and looks to have cracked the formula for an underground RnB hit.
The video’s swirling melange of shapes, lighting and colours echoes the diverse range of ideas and influences marbled through her vocal on ‘Mountain’, there’s nods to Mariah’s lofty power notes, Jessie Ware’s sensual soul tone and the uptempo pop fizz of Aluna Francis. Promise just became potency.
