Listen: Oliver Wilde - "Say Yes To Ewans"
Howling Owl’s flourishing musician, Oliver Wilde, has barely let the fire burn out following the release of his second album. It’s only been a few months and the embers are still burning; his latest offering swooping in and turning the dimming fire into a blaze of experimentation.
“Say Yes To Ewans”’ intro sets a sinister scene with layered guitars that surge into a cauldron of alarms. The vocals soon calm the track, allowing lo-fi hums to whisk the listener off to a new-age psychedelic sanctuary filled with swirling synths and an infectious haze that Wilde is simply too good at sending us into.
After being described as the “Nick Drake of the 21st century”, it’s clear that Wilde’s surrealism is taking a strong stance, and rightly so.
“Say Yes To Ewans” is set for release on 28 July via Howling Owl Records.
