Olive Amun tracks his messy on-again, off-again relationship with new single "Blues"
The Melbourne-based artist is getting ready to drop his genre-fusing debut EP with the release of "Blues", the first single to be taken from the project.
The 22-year-old Australian upstart is taking things up a notch. "Blues" is his best work to date and showcases his growth as a songwriter with a knack for luscious pop melodies. Emerging from the alternative hip hop scene Olive Amun is changing things up with his forthcoming dynamic new collection of tracks.
"Don't Leave Yet is filled with self-exploration; musically and figuratively speaking. This was the first time I got comfortable with the uncomfortable and didn't hold anything back," he explains. "I knew I had so much more to give artistically than I had showcased in the past, and this body of work was the perfect opportunity for me to finally go for it."
As for "Blues" itself, Amun describes it as "a break-up anthem that touches on the ups and downs of a love story that doesn't quite go to plan." Led by the strum of an acoustic guitar, he pairs wistful nostalgia with frustration as the realisation h that no matter how much effort goes into this situation, it's doomed to end.
