Oli Fox debuts his sophisticated pop sound with charming new track "Cruel"
Oli Fox may only be 21 years old, but his brand of pop is mature, carefully-crafted and years ahead of his age.
Oli Fox has already caught the attention of some big players in the game. He has worked with the likes of Kid Harpoon (Florence + The Machine, Jessie Ware) and Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini), a fact that only adds to the air of potential that his glossy pop vocals are already delivering.
On his debut track "Cruel", he employs sparse electro layering to build a song that could easily be a simple ballad but instead is made into a well-crafted pop earworm. His vocal ability stands centre stage as he flits between low baritone and a sky-high falsetto in the chorus, bouncing up and down the octaves with impressive ease.
The slow grooving track marks Fox out as a talent to watch and it'll be nothing short of interesting to see what his next step will be.
