Ofelia is a little know musician from Topanga in California, a minimalist town with a history of being favoured by musicians, artists, and bohemians.
But whereas Ofelia has embraced the subtlety and the power of a simple set up in this folk-pop number, she never falls into the trap of pretension. Avoiding a moody tone, ‘Hawk Fly Tiger Run’ is very much upbeat; a sugary but not too sweet layering of vocals present themselves as the clear star of the show amongst a softly picked guitar, and even subtler drum beat.
