Norwegian The Voice star NOR∆ shares stunning new single "Chasing The Sun"
Despite her rise to fame via TV show The Voice, Norwegian dream-pop artist NOR∆'s "Chasing The Sun" is far from the saccharine offerings we've come to expect from reality show alumni.
"Chasing The Sun" is the lead single lifted from NOR∆'s forthcoming debut EP Echoes – an apt choice of title, giving the resonant, Björk-inspired sound of this first offering. NOR∆'s vocal, reminiscent of Eurovision heroine Loreen, is enthroned front and centre against a sparse, distant tapestry of synths.
Both the track and its accompanying video draw heavily on mythology to create a billowing, dream-like feel. The video, co-directed by Maxime De Sadeleer, features a complex, abstract narrative set in a dystopian matriarchy. With a Plato-esque arc, its every bit as gripping as the song itself.
"To 'Chase The Sun' can mean many things," NOR∆ explains. "It can mean chasing happiness, or the idea of happiness. It can also mean chasing someone or the idea of someone."
