"Dance While You Shoot" is a blistering introduction to the world of Noga Erez
As debut singles go, the first offering from the Tel Aviv-based Noga Erez is as good, and as explosive, as you are likely to have heard all year.
The City Slang signee has introduced herself with the politically-charged "Dance While You Shoot", a track about the stark reality of the government having you over a barrel. "You can’t live without the government that ensures your basic needs," says Erez, "but at the same time takes your money, keeps you in the dark about the real, important matters that affect your life directly, while drowning you in manipulative media, ignorance and bureaucracy."
The track itself is full of off-kilter beats and doomy synths, super-powered by Erez's hypnotic vocals. Like a midpoint between M.I.A.'s hard-nosed attitude and fka Twigs' nebulous sensuality, "Dance While You Shoot" is stunning.
