Nilüfer Yanya shares dazzling new jam "Golden Cage" ahead of Plant Feed EP
London soloist Nilüfer Yanya amps up the emotion on addictive new track "Golden Cage", the second preview of upcoming EP Plant Feed.
The new track follows Plant Feed's lead single "The Florist" and sees the 21-year-old artist blur classic-sounding jazz vibes with her idiosyncratic strain of angular, organic pop. Yanya's fluttering voice ascends to nosebleed highs and murky depths - her range is astonishing - but it never steals the limelight for long, with every element of "Golden Cage" getting time to shine, from the slinky sax to the soulful guitars.
Yanya's latest offering is described as about "being caught up in something, but having no desire to walk out."
"On reflection you see it for what it really is - a trap - but when you're in it, everything seems so perfect and you're not paying attention to much else," Yanya explains.
There's still another cut from the short-player to look forward to called "Sliding Doors".
Yanya has a handful of festival dates coming up this month and later in the summer:
