Following up from her debut, "bättre är nu", Ness brings us "Serej", a song consumed by its melancholic optimism.
This track takes a fresh perspective on an emotion as old and unforgiving as time itself: love. Namely, "Serej" focuses on the love between a brother and sister, one of pride and of frustration. The songs opens straight into Robin Nazari's rap, before retreating to the sanctuary of Ness' voice.
Whilst the subdued production allows breathing space for the raw emotion of the song, Ness' soothing tone softens the edges of her desperate plea to her brother to not let society bring him down, shut him out, no matter how hard it tries.
"Serej" is out now.
