Watch: My Grey Horse – “All Those Mornings”
“All Those Mornings”, the opening effort from Stratford-upon-Avon’s My Grey Horse’s impending debut release, I Still Don’t Understand, is a real progression from the band’s previous singles with its yearning vocals, rhythmical guitar lead and bittersweet lyrics.
A more thoughtful affair, “All Those Mornings” may seem less instant than what we usually expect from My Grey Horse, but dig a little deeper and it will provide vital nourishment for those with a penchant for well-crafted songs.
The video is simplistic and features a process of basic emptiness with just a few things arising in it, something you might call an imaginary beauty. Over the last few years, the quintet have built their success around the genuine craft of songwriting, and by the sound of “All Those Mornings”, they show no signs of stopping. With their layered harmonies, swirling surf guitars and sweeping melodies, they cannot be slotted into any one genre, but one unifying element to all of their tracks is a love for melodic pop-hooks.
Having been holed up inside a log cabin near the Forest of Dean, they’ve now crafted their debut album set for release on 9 June through CRC Music Group. Watch their new video above.
