Morabeza Tobacco capture a haze-pop glow on new single "TTYL"
Morabeza Tobak is "a tobacco store with okay opening hours" at Mariatorget, Stockholm, and also the inspiration for the name of haze-pop duo Morabeza Tobacco.
Made up of Vanilla (who released a single called "Little Lies" two years ago) and Gustav, their debut single is "TTYL".
"TTYL", despite the brevity of its name, is a love letter to musical warmth and comfort, a song that sounds like the summer sunset painting the clouds pink.
A chillwave take on funk-pop, it pairs an irresistible little bassline with the aching melancholy in the vocal, all wrapped up in lo-fi dreaming, like processing your memories through a cracked radio. Check it out above, and expect more from the duo soon.
