Mom Tudie teams up with Giorgia Lo for lush, genre-hopping new track "Everything You Said"
"Everything You Said" is a track that takes you on a surprising whirlwind adventure as it whips through a tireless range of genres and influences.
Heartbreak is never nice and can bring on whole heap of conflicting thoughts about where it all went wrong. On Mom Tudie's newest track, these confusing and often agonising thoughts are put under the microscope, as Tudie explains "I guess it’s about pondering old relationships, the feeling of betrayal I think everyone feels a bit. I got hung out to dry by a girl at uni, and left wondering what happened, so I wrote about it."
The juxtaposing emotions are best highlighted by the way that the track so effortlessly flicks between the soft, jazz-speckled first half that sparkles with delicate little trumpet motifs before hitting you with its unexpected second half.
Giorgia Lo's stunning involvement marks the start of the second world that the track embodies. Her part could either be perceived as the other half of the story or an embodiment of the anger that can come alongside the sombre nature of the first part of the track and the natural progression of emotions that ruminate around your brain following a break-up.
However, it doesn't stop there as the 23-year-old mixes up the concoction all over again as the track steps up a gear and takes on another burst of vibrant life. At this point it actually feels more like it was made for the club rather than just your everyday soundtrack to a heartbreak.
The boundless experimentation of "Everything You Said" is skilfully managed and marks the young producer, who counts Tom Misch, Poppy Ajudha, Ezra Collective amongst his friendship circle, as an exciting new talent.
The song was also the first that Tudie had written the lyrics and melody for and became the starting board for his upcoming EP High Ceilings which is due out later this year.
