Modern Pleasure are all on sunshine on new single "Bliss Up"
Leeds-based quintet Modern Pleasure came running out of the blocks with debut single, the sun-kissed "Messina" and they're back today with their latest release, "Bliss Up", which takes their sun-flecked sound to even warmer climes.
Produced by Grammy-nominated Bryan Wilson (Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice) "Bliss Up" is a straight-up slice of summer that sees the band testing out a more electronic-focused sound.
"'Bliss Up' is an indulgent number," the band explain. "The demo sat on the shelf for a couple of years; we could never figure out how to make it work. It's nihilistic and anxious with one too many heart-on-your sleeve moments - but this always brought it back to us, it's real. The song is about trying to cope, even if it's only for a night."
Despite the track dealing with the uncertainty and doubt that plagues the everday, the band call it as an "anthem for the anxious generation", it delivers a message of hope from its contrasting cheery production and honest lyrics.
