"Leap Year" finds Norwegians Misty Coast in wistfully - and noisily - fine shape

Bergen's Misty Coast are back with a new single ahead of their debut album release later on this year.
Norwegian pair Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust have already shown us their woozy west coast charms on "Funny World", and on new track "Leap Year" there's similar psychedelic charms to be found.
On "Leap Year", though, Misty Coast add some noise to their hazy sunshine melodies; fuzzy guitars collide with a bouncing bass as Frøkedal 's sweetly resigned vocal coos the line "will you ever get away?" There's flute, messy electronics and layers of feedback - and when all come together on a crescendoing outro it makes for wonderful listening.
"Leap Year" is out today, and will feature as part of the Misty Coast album due 15 September via Brilliance / Old Flame.
