“Gold Angel” is the brooding debut single from London-based artist Minke.
Blending elements of pop, rock, soul, and R&B, Minke’s deft guitar riffs mingle with her understated vocal like curls of smoke in a darkened bar. Playing with spaciousness in a way that invokes the music of London Grammar and The XX, “Gold Angel” sees the singer turning her lyrical focus to the unattainable standards women are constantly expected to meet.
“Gold Angel” is an intriguing debut single from an artist brimming with potential. The confidence and poise of this restrained first cut suggests there’s far more to come from Minke in the wake of her beguiling introduction.
“Gold Angel” is out now.
