Minke follows up Lindsay Lohan-endorsed “Gold Angel” with new cut “Armour”
When your debut single scoops several million streams, you know you’ve hit on a winning formula. When Lindsay Lohan is using it to soundtrack her Instagram videos, however, you’re on a whole new level.
Such is the success of “Gold Angel”, the debut single from London-based newcomer Minke.

Thankfully, June has brought the successor to the track that’s been rattling around our brains for over three months now. New cut “Armour” shows a punchier side to the singer’s sweeping soundscapes, with that deft guitar still sneaking in and out of the background ambience.
Where “Gold Angel” lamented the impossible standards to which modern women are held, “Armour” tackles similarly complex subject matter. It builds to a headier climax than its predecessor, with a sharper, more percussive feel as Minke urges listeners to show their more vulnerable side. Standout chorus lyric “Can’t dance in armour” reflects the song’s poetic style, repeated several times over the building swell of guitar.
