Millie Turner is a tour-de-force on her new single "Eye Of The Storm"
Following "Jungle" in the spring, East London's Millie Turner is embracing chaos on the title track of her forthcoming mixtape.
An expert at crafting dance-inspired pop music, singer/songwriter Millie Turner's track record for ethereal bangers goes all the way back to her sparkling debut single "Underwater". Her penchant for thrilling electro-balladry has followed her through every EP release with singles like "Night Swimming" and "January" demanding your attention.
With a mixtape in the works this will be Turner's first body of work since last year's seven-track EP Hide+Seek. The collection is set to map out more of the chaos and calm of life right now and began to take shape as COVID-related tour cancellations rolled in and her support slot with Swedish icon Tove Lo ceased to exist.
On "Eye Of The Storm" Turner is doing what she does best. Written after a 24-hour flight, Turner explains “the entire process of writing it was a blur amongst illness, homesickness, heartache and jet lag, but for me, that’s the beauty of the song.
"The eye of the storm is a focus point amidst the storm where everything around you feels out of control and chaotic, which is what I wanted to capture in the urgency of the drums and the chorus. There’s something beautiful about chaos when you have that focal point of calm that you can grow from," she adds.
A triumphant return, "Eye Of The Storm" exorcises feelings of restlessness, loneliless and utter pandemonium through its four minutes of pulsing pop euphoria.
