Michl tackles uncertainty on smooth new single "Waste?"
Los Angeles-based recording artist Michl airs "Waste?", a how-to in electronic balladry.
Arriving as an anonymous enigma, Michl's self-titled debut EP is a six-track collection of heartfelt, brooding tracks which showcase the talents of this rising singer/songwriter. Tracks like "Kill Our Way To Heaven" and "Die Trying" particularly strike a chord and resonate with the deeper vision of this project.
Blending soul influences with pop melodies and intricate electronic production, Michl returns with latest release "Waste?" which sees him questioning the permanance of material objects and the worlds which we create for ourselves, either in or our outside of our own heads. In particular he explains this notion of uncertainty with regards to process of creating his art: ""hen I’m moving, I never really know if it’s forward or backward. It’s not until I look back and realize which direction I was going. By that time, I have to ask myself the question over again."
This new track is Michl's second offering of the year and follows the darker "Everything'll Change". Michl has also just finished touring with British songwriter/producer Mura Masa, who is set to release his debut album late this year, and will play LA's inaugral Skyline Festival alonside Miike Snow, Duke Dumont, and Best Fit favourite Elohim.
