Pop newcomer Mia Nicolai is exasperated and lists her demands on her debut "Set Me Free"
Calling London, Los Angeles and Amsterdam home for now, Mia Nicolai is ready to make a break for it with the release of her debut single "Set Me Free".
The new single marks a fresh start for Mia Nicolai who's ready to let go of control and finally share her first original material. Since releasing a cover of the Glenn Miller classic "At Last" in 2018, the singer/songwriter has been busy living and experiencing things to channel into her work and "Set Me Free" is the first taste of that.
Produced by Ryan Raines (Dominic Fike, Peach Tree Rascals), the track acts as the perfect introduction for an artist who's been waiting in the wings. Detailing her frustration with "fakers" and behind the scenes delays, "Set Me Free" finds the light just as Nicolai has done as she turns this new page.
“I want the listener to know that if you are someone who feels stuck in themselves for whatever reason that might be you can create yourself to the person you dream to be," she explains. She says "all you have to do is take action, take a step forward, and keep moving and never look back."
While often this is much harder to do outside of a song, Nicolai stresses that she hopes her journey resonates; "I want people to listen to this song and feel the opportunities of life, of your own mind, of your own journey." A heavenly slice of uplifting pop it hints a handful of exciting directions Nicolai could take next.
