If Meleka sounds familiar it's hardly a surprise, since her early success as a dance act saw her writing for the likes of Gorgon City, Jess Glynne and Kelis.
New track "You Don't Know" – a cover of the '90s R&B classic by US trio 702 – is the result of recent sessions working with producers Basement Jaxx and Snakehips, and the first of three cuts from her forthcoming The Funkin' 90s EP.
A rich combo of modern soul and her unique take on 90s funk, it makes a strong first impression, a brightly hued confection that'll brighten up even the dullest of mornings.
