London newcomer Meggie Brown has unveiled "Coming Back Again", a lithe post-punk track produced by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand.
The song - recorded at Edwyn Collins' Helmsdale studio in the Scottish Highlands - is propelled by maniacal rhythms and basslines whipping around like a snake having a seizure. "Coming Back Again" is magnetic, furiously addictive, and bound for dancefloors - it's shadowy, certainly, but it's not sombre.
"Coming Back Again" is out now. Brown will open for Franz Ferdinand at their shows in Cambridge, London, and Brighton later this month.
