Londoner Marna channels White Flag on the sweet yet stirring new track “Craving”
Pop vocalist Marna has followed up her “Crossfire” single from last year with a new track equally as impressive.
Mixing light as air Dido-esque vocals with swirling synths and elements of trip hop, “Craving” is an atmospheric wonder.
“It’s written about the decision to go with the head above the heart,” says Marna, “knowing that what the heart wants isn't always sensible, but going without it can leave you wanting more.”
Although at its core there is some sweet indie pop - thanks in no small part to Marna’s deeply comforting voice, a pillow to lay your head upon - that idea of wanting what you can’t and shouldn’t have bites and explores the fuzzy edges of the track.
There’s no doubt that as 2018 rolls on, Marna will be one to watch - especially if she explores a little more of the darkness.
