Marie Dahlstrøm's "One More Reason" is, uhh, one more reason to take notice of the soulful Dane
London-based Danish singer Marie Dahlstrøm is quietly making a name for herself as a song writer with the most delicious voice. "One More Reason" is her latest single.
The young Dane has been making soulful music since the release of her debut EP back in 2011, releasing a mini-album of covers titled The Renditions featuring Dahlstrøm's take on songs by Bon Iver, Phil Collins and Rihanna. In March she dropped one of her own tracks, "Crashing Down", and she's followed it up with "One More Reason", produced with Tom Misch.
Once more it's a laid-back and smooth as hell track; woozy synths and languid beats do the bare minimum of providing a 90s R&B jam for Dahlstrøm's ridiculously beautiful, soaring and deeply soulful vocal to be the star of the show.
Of the track, Dahlstrøm says "Tom and I had two awesome sessions in Tom's studio in Peckham creating 'One More Reason', which is a little summer vibe about why two people are just right for each other. Hopefully it can put a smile on people's faces during this season."
