Marie Dahlstrøm continues to impress with her classic R&B take on new track "Home Tonight"
Having beguiled us with her smoothly flawless voice on "Crashing Down", "One More Reason" and "Mine", London-based Danish singer Marie Dahlstrøm is back with another excellent release.
"Home Tonight", produced with Aston Rudi and written with Chiara Hunter (Fleur East), takes a simple ticking backbeat and allows Dahlstrøm to let her voice move from intimate, smoky lower tones to a soaring falsetto as she sings "you are the reason I won't make it home tonight..."
Warm synths and subtle electronics add a relaxed atmosphere to the track, and the Dane's honeyed vocal makes "Home Tonight" her most seductive cut to date. Of the song, Dahlstrøm says “it's a song about making love feel new. I created 'Home Tonight 'with my friends, It's a track with lots of little elements to it - lately I have been exploring different ways of using my voice - for example the 'trumpet' sound you can hear in the choruses and outro of this song."
