Listen: Maribou State – Scarlett Groove (feat. Saint Saviour)
Like ice crackling between liquid desires, Maribou State lets the line between house and deep dribble off the lip of your latest infatuation, and drip back into the glass. Heavy-handed house edits ripple through radiating dance grooves that then weave themselves through jazzy, high-pitched vocals.
There’s always an added level of complexity when it comes to Maribou State’s music. They layer and layer until they strike a balance between deep house billows, atmospheric percussion sways and pitch shifting rhythms all dripping with ingenuity that would frazzle even the brightest of minds attempting to deconstruct and put back together again.
Hear is the self-titled track off Maribou State’s forthcoming, Scarlett Groove EP, which will leave you flushed and panting, yet the second the music stops, have you begging for another go at it.
