Black Butter Records continues to build its impressive roster; this time New York-based producer/DJ MANIK enters the fold.
Latest cut, “Wanna Feel” has the trimmings of dance floor afterglow, bustling as it is with studio-fit vocals and warm bass flushes, but its stereo-like keys and gently convulsing bops let it hang somewhere between open club atmos and private bedroom production. There is notable fluidity - spitting rhythms pulled down into bouncy deep house rumbles - and its intricate textures are more than a pleasure to listen to.
Keep an eye out for this promising new talent.
MANIK’s debut EP, Because Of You, is released on April 28 via Black Butter Records.
