Malihini melt hearts on pulsing pop tune "Miss"
London-via-Rome twosome Malihini are sharing their new sultry pop ode "Miss".
The pair - real names Giampaolo Speziale and Federica Caiozzo - are following up debut cut "Waiting". "Miss" is produced by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Ghostpoet), and welds sinewy basslines with bold melodic strides - it's got gothy darkness but there's an alluring side to their shadows... it's hypnotic rather than harrowing.
"'Miss' is a love song, containing memories and hopes and fears," explain Malihini. "When we were writing it we found ourselves in one of those rhythmic loops. A loop that felt tribal, almost. We scrambled some words together and they came out so naturally it felt like we were exhaling the lyrics rather than writing them."
Malihini have also confirmed their debut headline date at London's The Waiting Room on 2 October.
