Listen: Magic Man – Every Day
Following February’s catchy Passion Pit meets Walk The Moon single ‘Paris’, ‘Every Day’ sees radiant electro-pop act Magic Man doing their best Haim impression – albeit with a few more Y chromosomes and bolder electronics.
A bopping bassline embraces foot-tapping drums, before inviting liquorice synths and the odd bit of sugary guitar in for a big group hug. Best, however, are Alex Caplow’s sassy vocals, far more substantial and hookier than the watered-down stuff gracing many electronic acts. A brighter anthem than much of their earlier material, it promises great things from their upcoming EP; a musical catalyst for grinning, grooving and good times.
The band will release their first official EP You Are Here via Neon Gold/Columbia on 10 September.
