The Newcastle band’s latest single is an urgent nuclear-blast of guitar-driven energy powered by youthful aggression.
“Primrose Path” is a 2 minute and 19 second ramshackle of chugging bass, biting chords and effortlessly executed '80s avant-garde punk rock. This will technically be the Geordie outfit’s third release following on from September’s double-a-side “Blue Wates/Two Swans”, which set the proverbial bar almost out of reach.
There are hints of Iceage, Eagulls and Faith-era Cure within the track’s overtly gothic textures, frantic melodic shifts and helplessly sincere vocals. “Primrose Path” is an unpredictable beast, transforming within its own contained chaos and you’ll be sad it’s over so fast.
