A slogan on an ancient baseball cap triggers a journey through the past for Ontario's LUKA
Over a lightly strummed nylon string guitar, weary, haunted keyboards and slight percussion courtesy of Evan Cartwright (Tasseomancy/ Andy Shauf), Kuplowsky half speaks, half croons his way through ancient relics of summers past, perfectly capturing the easy warmth of early autumnal nostalgia. Subtle and intimate, there is a woozy elegance to LUKA's delivery and the gentle harmonies that dissapear back into nothing as the track draws to a close.
Having already shared stages with the likes of Aldous Harding, Jennifer Castle and Timber Timbre, the band head out across Canada on Friday, culminating in a performance at this years Halifax Pop Explosion.
LUKA release of their third album What Kind Of Animal on November 28th. The album was recorded and mixed live by collaborator Stephen Prickett, in a single session.
