Lou Stone calls for emotional candidness on his delicate new single “Truth Toy”
London-born Lou Stone’s “Truth Toy” is rich and evocative, weaving a troubled narrative of broken hearts and half-truths into his emotive soundscapes.
Awash with scattered piano melodies and silky guitar rhythms, the track implores for romantic candidness between two lovers, “cutting through the shit we all experience at the beginning of a relationship,” as Lou Stone explains.
“It’s a song about breaking down the walls we put up to find the truth,” he continues. “I am asking people to be honest with one another”.
Spending his adolescent years in Sydney and Montreal, the young musician discovered his musical dexterity playing in local bands before busking his way across a number of European cities. This raw talent translates effortlessly in the record: glossy rhythms dappled in the warm glow of overhead streetlights and the gentle murmur of the surrounding city.
