London singer-songwriter Chi gives Blur's "Tender" a reverb-laced twist

Chi's version is a willowy, pared-down take, removing the end-of-night swayalong vibes, adding a pensive twang. It's got thick textures, slowly layering on top of each other, with orchestral threads and lead-lined keys injecting a Massive Attack vibe towards the climactic end. It'd be hard to ever top the original's singular brilliance, but she gives it a mighty good go.
Raised in Bristol and Spain, Chi's made a name for herself by being a frequent collaborator in dance circles, including as a guest vocalist for Grades.
The cover follows the airing of Chi's debut cut "Hard To Be Happy" last month.
