Listen: LOLO – Gangsters (XY Constant Remix)
-
LOLO’s “Gangsters” was a smart piece of neo-soul when it first reached our ears this year – now it’s had the remix once-over by UK producer, XY Constant.
The remix is way more hardcore than the original track itself, this time complete with a hip-hop solo. LOLO has a raspy voice that’s appealing to the ear and the remix luckily doesn’t mask but rather compliments the song.
The American soloist has just rounded-off her UK tour supporting popstar John Newman. It’s quite the achievement and is likely due to the popularity of several of her songs hitting the top of the Hype Machine chart, catching the attention of bloggers and radio stations alike. Mark our words: this remix will also have some nice rotation on nights out.
LOLO has three headline shows next month, while her as-yet-untitled LP is due for release later this year. Catch her live at Soup Kitchen, Manchester on 7 March.
