Madrid's Lois has a video to share and it's directed by Carlotta from Hinds
"It's my first video and I just wanted it to be pretty," says Spanish singer/songwriter Lois Brea Ares talking about the retro visual for "Before You".
Taken from his Bedroom Recordings debut, which we fell in love with back in January, the wonky VHS clip was directed by Hinds' Carlotta Cosials - yet again flexing her directing muscles after her work on The Parrots' "I Am A Man"
"This is a presentation of a new artist [and] I think the first music video you have to have is like this," Cosials tells us. "Like 'this is me and I have nothing to hide' - no pretending. So this is exactly what we did with a VHS camera that Lois had and wanted to use."
Following Hinds and The Parrots, the new project from the Trajano! vocalist and guitarist is poised to be the next breakout from the intensively creative DIY Madrid scene (we hope). "The video is really close to the images that the song 'Before You' sent to my mind while I was mixing it," he says.
Shot on a trip to Oslo, Cosials made the video around Lois' birthday. "I still don't know the reason why the stewardess gave us so much wine and allowed us to goof around so heavily," Lois adds.
